Laying Course Sands
Laying course sands are for clay, stone or concrete pavers. We are one of the few suppliers to offer all categories of laying course sands laid out in BS 7533 part 3 (1997).
- Category IA Laying Course Sand: For pavements receiving severely channelised traffic; bus stations; aircraft pavements.
- Category IB Laying Course Sand: For loading bays and industrialised pavements.
- Category II Laying Course Sand: For roads and adopted highways; petrol station forecourts; pedestrianisation projects receiving regular heavy traffic; footways regularly overridden by traffic.
- Category III Laying Course Sand: For car parks with no heavy traffic; pedestrianisation projects receiving occasional heavy traffic.
- Category IV Laying Course Sand: For private drives; areas receiving pedestrian traffic only; footways likely to be overidden only occasionally by traffic.
Building Conservation Sands
We are now producing masonry, plastering and rendering sands to the latest English Heritage conservation specifications for specialist conservation or restoration work.
- Type EHS (Special Conservation Masonry) is is a natural mortar sand for plain and reinforced brickwork, blockwalling and masonry.
- Type EHB (Conservation Plastering and Rendering type B) is a general sand for external renderings, internal cement and lime plastering.
- Type EHA (Conservation Plastering and Rendering type A) sand has a coarser grading than type EHB, and is available subject to quantity and notice.
Soils
- Soil Amelioration Sand is a washed, hydrosized sand designed to STRI recommendations for the amelioration of soil.
- Sand/Soil Rootzone Mix available subject to quanitity and notice.
Fine Filler Sand
Our fine filler sand is used in several different applications, notably as a mixer for other sands to improve their grading. Please telephone to place an order
Industrial Mortar Sands
