Our Plastering & Rendering sands comply with the gradings set out in BS 1199 AMD 5126
Type T2 is an especially formulated fine plastering sand for cement and lime plastering, internal or external bands, plinths etc., or fine wall finishes, where a gypsum plaster skim is to be omitted. It is a finer version of the type B sand.
Type XB is a general sand for external renderings, internal cement and lime plastering.
Type XA sand has a coarser grading than the type XB, and is available subject to quantity and notice.
Types EHB and EHA are similar to the types XB and XA respectively, but also conform to English Heritage gradings -- find out more in our Building Conservation Sands section.
We regularly sample our sands to check that grain size distribution meets specification.
Each of our Plastering & Rendering sands is intended to produce plaster of predictable strength and durability, with a uniform appearance.
The relevant codes of practice, standards and statutory regulations must always be observed.
