Blending Applet
The blending applet below allows you to specify your own blended sand by altering the blend proportions of our coarse, medium and fine base sands in the final blend, and specifying a grading envelope for the blend to satisfy.
The table gives the sieve sizes and the % passing value on each sieve for each sand, and the blend. Use the table's scrollbar to see the rest of the table. Use the OK button to draw (or redraw) the graph.
Instructions for Use
- Set your grading envelope by entering values into the Envelope Minimum (Env Min) and Envelope Maximum (Env Max) columns in the table. You don't have to fill every field -- just the ones for the sieve sizes that you are concerned with. Don't forget to scroll down to see the rest of the table.
- Click the OK button to update the graph. The envelope appears in black.
- Now alter the values for the proportion of each base sand. The values allowed for the coarse part are 0 (none) to 1.0 (all of it). The values allowed for the medium part and the fine part are 0 (none) to 10.0 (all of it).
- The grading curve produced is drawn as a red line on the graph.
- Keep altering the proportions of the base sands (press OK each time to update the graph), until you have the curve that best sits inside your grading envelope.
- Note down the blend proportions, or print the page for your records. Contact us for prices, to place an order, or for any further information.
NOTES:
Sieve sizes are in millimeters.
An bug in Internet Explorer means that scrolling the main page may 'wipe' some of the graph away. Just press OK to redraw the graph.
